Presented as a gift from a father to his daughter on her wedding day, this installation titled “I Do” stands on his estate in a grove on the outskirts of the Mexico City, where the wedding ceremony is to be held. Imitating the verticality of the enveloping woods, the stele-like figures of a man and a women bear witness to the sacred exchange of vows. Paying homage to time and place, the pieces were carved by local craftsmen from a fallen Montezuma pine found near the site.
