SLOT was part of the 20 finalists for the international competition Kaira Looro 2019. This year, the aim of the contest was to design a peace pavilion in Sedhiou (Senegal) in memory of the victims of the African wars. Congratulations to the winning team!

ProMéxico published the book "EXPO 2010 SHANGHAI MEXICO'S PAVILION - ARCHITECTURAL COMPETITION"

We’ll be streaming live at 8:45 am our conferences with Alberto Oderiz and Christof Göbel at Slot this Friday 28. They will be talking about urbanism.

We are completing one of our projects at Cabo San Lucas, Baja California, where we are building the next store for Toco Madera, a brand that designs functional and emotional products and clothing, making sure that subtle details and surprises complete the experience of owning one.

Our project was part of the final proposals and consisted of innovative administrative offices, thematic exhibition halls, workshop classrooms, an open auditorium and a nonpermanent hall for installations. The design also renovated the exterior spaces. This signifies the recalling of the central concept from its original architect, the renown Pedro Ramirez Vazquez: the intersection of culture, society, and its history.

We are thrilled to announce the beginning of the construction La Toscana, a housing building located in Angelopolis, Puebla. Here is the site where the next Slot’s project is going to be built.

Our work aims for human connectivity. Always. As an emotional enhancer, this new piece is about to be delivered at a beach house in the state of Jalisco. A “geometrical dream”. Its organical design subtly entangles the eye with the firm sense of materiality and depth. We perceive this creation as an architectural ghost, a window, a sensibility reactor. Its proud owner “needed it”.

Love. The sense of destiny and the power of the forest. This project was commissioned for the wedding of our client's daughter. As a token of will and perpetuity, this piece becomes a tridimensional document. It withholds emotions and belonging. It represents duality: a man and a woman standing, but also the threshold onto a new life. Named I DO the sculpture is made of carved wood and it is naturally treated so it will eventually go back to its roots. It is a tribute to transformation.

Last week we had the opportunity to enjoy a private tour in the last house built by the international famous architect Luis Barragan, while our great guide, Martin Caballero, told us a lot about the marvelous building located in the San Miguel Chapultepec neighborhood. We loved to feel the vibe of the texture and colors of the “Barraganesque” walls. We are always looking for cultural activities around our wonderful city, such activities help us to learn and to enhance our creativity!

Today we say goodbye to one of our interns, Carolin Hinneheuser from Germany. She crossed the ocean to share great times and her knowledge with us here in Mexico City. We learned a lot from you and we hope to work together again, Carolin.

Slot’s Director and Co-founder, Juan Carlos Vidals, had a meeting with Marie Arvinius and Esther Whang, publisher and editor, at Arvinius + Orfeus Publishing House (A + O) in Stockholm, Sweden, where they discussed the latest draft of Slot’s upcoming monograph. We’re really looking forward to see the results of this wonderful and multicultural collaboration! Stay tuned for more information about our book.

Some of the Slot team is currently working on a construction site, at San Juan del Rio, in the state of Queretaro. Our team in Mexico city visited them last Friday 9th to spend the day together and have a tour around the construction area. We are very grateful to have spent time together and feel extremely proud of their work.

Living is about being in presence of others and life itself is a space to be inhabited. This is how we feel about you Carolin Hinnekeuser and Giulia Bosi, having been here with us and we hope that you see us as your home forever. We were pleased to exchange goodbyes at Casa Luis Barragán.

After 8 years of experiencing transformation in order to connect spaces and people, we celebrated our 8th anniversary with great joy in a warm environment. Thanks to all the people who take part in this. We connect. We realize. We are architects.

Slot Studio is excited to announce the upcoming publication of its first book titled “CUT”, published by Swedish publishing house Arvinius + Orfeus. This book is a monograph, both a retrospective and a statement for the future. Our intention is to establish an alternative way of producing architecture, based on the relation between humans and the space they inhabit. “CUT” is a part of this effort and will be the first Arvinius + Orfeus collaboration with an architecture office outside the Nordic region and Europe.

Slot-Studio was part of “Ideas Brunch & Recruitment Session 04”, organized by Platoon – The Global Creative Alliance in Mexico City, in order to discuss ideas around architecture and create cultural alliances with different partners.

Moritz Melchert, Co-Founder and Director of Slot-Studio, was invited by our colleagues, BAR Architects, to expose his views and personal insights on leading a multicultural design-specialized studio in the actual Mexican context.
The conference with the title “Connect Under Transformation – The thin line between consciousness, responsibility and inspiration”, was held in San Francisco, California and was a great opportunity to present Slot’s innovative work to an international design community.

Slot has been commissioned for a new project of 5 residential towers, which contain 120 apartments in total, located in the State of Mexico. The building area will be approximately 17,000 m2 plus amenities.

New book of DAMDI Publishing “Advanced Architecture 4,5,6” came out and we are proud to announce that one of our projects “Rivoli” is in it.

Slot finally have finished the design of one of its projects, Casa Malinalco, located in State of Mexico. The next phase is the construction supervision, that we will start in the following weeks.

Just a month after the beginning of construction, under supervision of Slot, have been made important advances on the construction of Hirschvogel industrial building, such as the outdoor installations, assembly of metallic structure of the machining building and excavations of the basements.

Sarah Zahradnik, author of the "Architectural Guide - Mexico City", invites her readers to discover the 9-storey building "Revolución Apartments", designed in 2012 by SLOT.

The ceremony took place in Queretaro, Mexico, to officially inaugurate the construction of the first Hirschvogel Automotive Group Industrial Building in Mexico. The Governor of the State, the President of Hirschvogel Mexico, Slot Directors and important delegates were some of the assistants.

The korean book "PresenTation" sees architects as storytellers. The city of Mejay and its inhabitants have been explained through a summed-up presentation to Damdi, such an interesting narrative exercise!

The Team of PROMÉXICO published the book "MÉXICO EXPO SHANGHÁI 2010. Memoria del Pabellón" relating the story of the Mexican Pavilion, its expositions and events and offering us a retrospective of the way chinese public interacted with this architecture, designed 13000-kilometers away.
