Submitted to an international competition inviting designers to create a key component of the revitalization for the Corona brand, Mundo Corona is slated to be built on the site of the Corona brewery in Mexico City. The project consists of a museum, recreational park and causeway bridge. Sprawling over 10,393 m2 and comprising one fourth of the project footprint, the museum boasts a massive checkerboard of LEDs on its façade, making the structure a beacon of light, colors and movement, the informing principles of Corona’s reinvigorated image. The adjoining recreational park of 30,000m2, projects a forward-looking image of green modernity that is sure to enrich the daily lives of visitors, who are invited to enjoy the space by the generous causeway bridge spiraling gently down to ground level.
