CASA CAÑADA IS A WEEKEND HOUSE IN THE UPSKIRTS OF MEXICO CITY LOCATED IN THE WOODS ADJACENT TO THE COMMUNITY OF CAÑADA DE ALFÉREZ. A SLY VOLUME THAT CONCEALS ITS TRUE SIZE NURTURE AN INTIMATE AND WARM INNER LIVING SPACE ENCLOSED IN A BURNT WOOD SHELL THAT BLENDS WITH THE DENSE FOREST. THE SHAPE THAT ARISES FROM THE ROOFTOP EVOKES THE SILHOUETTE OF THE MOUNTAINS BUT ALSO IS A SUSTAINABLE FEATURE TO HARVEST RAINWATER AND REGULATE SUNLIGHT. A RHYTHM IN EVERY SUSTAINABLE FINISH MATERIAL IS MET THROUGH THE PANELING SEEN FROM THE WOOD PLANKS IN THE FAÇADE TO THE CONCRETE SLABS IN THE CEILING, BRIDGING A UNITY IN THE DESIGN.
